1986.001.0005 - Shoe
Circa 1890 white kid shoes with lace on the outside and black eyelets; the 1-1/2 inch high heel is covered with white kid. Shoes are lined with white fabric and the inside of the ankle lined with white kid. There is a double row of stitching up the center front and down the center back. Toes are squared off. Stamped on bottom: Laird(?) Schober Mitchell; Leather C impressed on sole.

Circa 1900 pair of white, kid, shoulder length gloves with three rows of vertical decorative stitching on the back; the fingers and the long side seam are seamed on the outside. Three flat pearl buttons close the wrist opening on the inside. A name stamped on the inside left glove at the wrist is indecipherable. Condition is very good.

Circa 1890 22-1/2 inch long and 14-1/2 inch wide tortoise shell and ostrich feather fan made with three tortoise shell sticks with tortoise shell loop at the bottom and three large teal blue ostrich feathers. The fan is held together at the base of feathers by a thin silken thread. Condition- feathers really curved at top, lightly shedding but basically OK.

Circa 1940 fixed fan made of a round leaf of natural woven fiber attached to a shaped wooden handle with a black finish; the surface of the fan is decorated with white lace with a pink fabric flower with green leaves and a silver stem. Loop at the bottom of handle is missing, flower is fading.
