1810 - 1815 Empire style vibrant yellow, acid silk dress - Bodice lined with ivory silk, Peter Pan Collar. Collar is handmade . Front opening from neck to hemline. Double rows of buttons at bottom. Button holes - Front fasteners with barrel shaped covered buttons - From about knee length there are a double row of buttons with one missing. Sleeves are very long to cover the hand. Some button holes are closed up . The collar may have been worn up. Collar neckline, waistline trimmed with a matching yellow braid, same braid trims both sleeves just above cuffs and the bottom front. Center back has gathers (skirt). Entire dress is handmade. |
